This module introduces students to the foreign, security and defence policy of the European Union. It briefly reviews the development of Europe’s security architecture before proceeding to analyse in some depth the goals, capacity and profile of the European Union as an international actor in the field of foreign, security and defence policy and its impact on the foreign, security and defence policies of the Member States. The seminar-based module is structured around student-led presentations, some lectures and moderated discussions.
